My Kouvola – Event for Immigrant Families

The City of Kouvola warmly invites families with an immigrant background to a community event at Kouvola City Hall. The event takes place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM.

Minun Kouvolani – My Kouvola event highlights the opportunities Kouvola has to offer for everyday life and well-being. It is intended for both newly arrived families and those who have lived in Kouvola for a longer time.

Nearly 30 organizations will be present, including the library, early childhood education, basic education, employment and business services, youth services, public transport, adult education center, hobby clubs, educational institutions, the church, and civic organizations. There will be activities for children and an art exhibition by students.

The opening speech will be given by Kaisa Spies, Coordinator of International Work, at 5:30 PM. The program also includes music by Upendra Siriwardana and a folk music performance.

Visitors can explore the activity and information booths independently between 5 PM and 7 PM. Guided tours in various languages will also be available. Language assistance will be provided in Somali, Russian, Arabic, and Ukrainian. The guided tours will start at 5:00 PM, 6:00 PM, and 6:30 PM.

The event is free of charge and open to everyone. Light refreshments will be served.
