”First Things First” – Promoting health and wellbeing in the hair, beauty and make-up industry
ERASMUS+ STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP 2017-1-FI01-KA202-034795
Aim of the Project:
Work safety is a topic that is becoming more and more important in the fields of hairdressing and beauty care. Self-employment and entrepreneurship are important skills in these fields. Safe work environment will enable longer careers. Occupational diseases caused by exposure to chemicals are typical. Chemical exposure is commonplace because health and safety regulations are neglected at work places. Indifference towards health and safety regulations is too common. This is a global problem.
The aim of this project is to raise awareness on safe working and work wellbeing in the fields of hairdressing and beauty care. The information compiled and produced in this project will support both companies and education providers operating in the aforementioned fields. This will, in turn, reduce occupational diseases and hazards and will enable longer careers in beauty care and hairdressing. Furthermore, it will go hand in hand with entrepreneurship skills and lifelong learning. The aim is to improve working conditions by addressing commonplace practical problems.
This project started in the autumn 2017 with a great kick off meeting in Finland. The project will take two years. There will be altogether four transnational meetings, one in each participating country. Each meeting will focus on specific aspects of work safety and work wellbeing. The information will be available on this web site. The web sites will be completely ready in the spring 2019.
This web site can be used at vocational colleges as well as hair and beauty salons worldwide
