Poikilo consists of the Kouvola Art Museum and the Kouvola City Museum.
The story of Poikilo is based on a wooden mascot created by artist Pekka Nissinen. The mascot represents a happy exchange, love and joy.
Inhabitants from Kouvola region are people of a river; the river Kymi has been essential for the whole area. The movements of the river have given life to experiences, stories and versatility of Kouvola area.

POIKILO is within a walking distance from the Kouvola bus and railway stations. Poikilo, located in Kouvola-talo, has more than 1000m2 of exhibition rooms. Both Kino Poikilo and Kouta gallery are adjacent to Poikilo. Kouvola-talo, designed by Erkki Valovirta, is regarded as one of the most beautiful postmodern buildings in Finland. Kouvola-talo has a café, Sävel Bistro. Reservations for meetings rooms, the concert hall and the auditorium can be made by telephone (+358 20 615 4749). Poikilo is accessible for all.
