Kouvola is Finland’s tenth largest city, with 88,000 inhabitants. In Kouvola’s area of employment there are about 36,700 jobs and 5,200 companies. The share of industry of the turnover of these companies is almost half.

An educated work force
In the city of Kouvolai, higher education and research also for the needs of companies are provided by Lappeenrannan teknillisen yliopiston yksikkö, University of Helsinki Palmenia Centre for Continuing Education Palmenia and Kymenlaakson ammattikorkeakoulu. Basic and continuing vocational education are provided by Kouvolan seudun ammattiopisto and Kouvolan ammatillinen aikuiskoulutuskeskus.

Good transport connections
From Kouvola there are excellent transport connections in all directions. Fast rail connections on the Helsinki-Kouvola-St Petersburg route enable quick deliveries and an extensive area of employment. Kouvola is also situated at the junction of Highways 15 and 6.
