Tickets and prices
Kouvola City-Card
The cheapest way of travelling by bus in Kouvola is to buy a Kouvola City-Card. With the Kouvola City-Card you have unlimited travel in Kouvola for 30 days. The Kouvola City-Card costs 40 € and is valid throughout Kouvola. The Kouvola City-Card is personal. When buying the Kouvola City-Card for the first time, a card fee of 6,50 € will be charged.
When you buy the Kouvola City-Card for the first time, fill out a City-Card application and return it to the Matkahuolto office (Hallituskatu 3). Kouvola City-Card applications are available at the Matkahuolto office. You can also print the application from here. The Kouvola City-Card can be reloaded at the Matkahuolto office, on buses and at R-Kiosks.
Single tickets
Single tickets are priced according to distance. Rates per kilometre are shown in the price list. You can use the timetable search function to check the distance for any trip. Annual tickets
Matkahuolto's annual tickets are nationwide ticket products that are ideal for passengers travelling a specific route on a regular basis. The annual ticket includes either 22 or 44 trips of a specific distance and is valid for one year from the date of purchase.
The 44-Trip Annual Ticket for adults offers a minimum discount of 25%; for children aged 4 to 11, the discount is 50%. The discount is calculated on the basic rate authorized the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The 22-Trip Annual Ticket for a 15% discount for adults and a 50% discount for children aged 4 to 11. The discount is based on the adult fare applied by Matkahuolto. When buying an annual ticket for the first time, a card fee 6,50 € will be charged. More information can be found here.
Stored-Value Ticket
The Stored-Value Ticket is valid throughout Finland. It is suitable for people who travel varying distances by bus on an irregular basis. At the time of purchase, the value specified by the customer is loaded on the travel card for unlimited use on all routes operated by private bus companies.
