All citizens of the new Kouvola are entitled to adequate and uniform health services.
Services are improved by developing them as part of seamlessly operating treatment and service chains. There is co-operation between the different operators in the organisation and regional co-operation as well.
The service structure of Health Services changed when long-term inpatient care and memory outpatient care were moved under home care and senior care.
Preventative family work and specialized counselling for children with disabilities have recently been integrated into traditional child health clinic activity. Health care includes outpatient services, dental care, adult psychiatry, occupational health care, and hospital care. The services are provided by the city or purchased from elsewhere.
