Day care is available based on the needs of a family, as part-time or full-time kindergarten or as family day care. 24-hour day care also offers the option of having childcare during evenings, nights, and weekends.
Day care for children is arranged whenever possible according to their parents’ wishes. Available alternatives are municipal day care, private day care, municipal allowance for private day care and a private care contract.
Prior to their compulsory education, children have the right to pre-primary education free of charge. Pre-primary education days are the same as the school days.
For supporting parents who take care of their child at home, open activities are arranged at family parks.
Early childhood education plans and pre-primary education plans may be viewed at individual early childhood education units.
Unit-based plans are in accordance with the national curriculum for early childhood education and pre-primary education.
